Healthy Mineral Rich Gummy Snacks
Aside from how delicious these gummy snacks are, my favorite part is all the hidden health benefits packed into each bite. They’re naturally sweetened with honey, loaded with essential vitamins and minerals, and give a gentle boost of protein. The kids think they’re getting candy, they only take me five minutes to whip up, and we all sleep better? That’s what I call a win-win.

Gummy Snack Benefits:
The list of health benefits to this recipe is kind of endless, but just to name a few:
- Beef gelatin is rich in collagen, the most abundant protein in the body. It provides the amino acids needed to support cartilage, reduce joint pain, and maintain strong bones—especially helpful as we age or recover from injury.
- The Collagen in beef gelatin helps improve skin elasticity, reduce wrinkles, and strengthen hair and nails from the inside out. Hello natural botox!
- Gelatin contains glycine and glutamine, two amino acids that help repair the gut lining, reduce inflammation, and support a healthy digestive tract—great for anyone with leaky gut or food sensitivities.
- Salt is an essential part of our diet. It can help regulate our adrenal glands, which is crucial for a healthy circadian rhythm.

- Honey contains tryptophan, an essential amino acid that helps the body relax and produce serotonin, which then converts to melatonin, your sleep hormone. Because the body can’t produce tryptophan on its own, getting it through food (like honey) before bed can support a calm, sleepy state.
- Honey also helps by gently raising glycogen levels in the liver. This helps prevent the brain from triggering a stress response during the night, reducing adrenaline spikes and supporting deeper, more stable sleep. Less stress, fewer wake-ups, and more rest? Yes, please.
- Tart cherries are a natural source melatonin, an essential hormone needed for sleep. We produce it naturally, but an added boost from these gummy snacks can help to achieve a more restful night. Here’s an interesting study done with tart cherry juice used to increase time asleep.

Ingredients
- 2 cups tart cherry juice (or any fruit juice of your choice)
- 1/4 cup high quality, grass-fed bovine gelatin
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/4 cup of honey, or sweetener of choice (I order my honey in bulk from Azure Standard)
- 1oz Master Mineral Tonic
If you want a high quality source of minerals, without using the mineral tonic listed, you can use 1/2 tsp of sea salt. We love Baja Gold salt! It’s another item I order in bulk from Azure Standard.
Instructions
- Add fruit juice to a small sauce pan
- Sprinkle grass-fed gelatin on top and let it sit for 5 minutes to “bloom”

- Place the pan over medium heat and add honey + salt
- Warm mixture until it’s just dissolved, do not bring to a boil
- Remove from heat and cool, then add your Master Mineral Tonic

- Pour mixture into silicone molds, or a glass baking dish
- Place in the fridge to set for 2-3 hours

- Remove gummy snacks from molds and store in an airtight container for 7-10 days (Don’t worry, they wont last that long!)
Tips for the best gummies
- Make sure you are using a high quality gelatin like this. Collagen will NOT work.
- You can sub the tart cherry juice with any fruit juice your family enjoys. We also love using orange juice, or grape juice.
- Have fun with this recipe and try one of these flavor variations: Blueberry Lime, Peach Mango, Raspberry Orange, Watermelon Mint (use either fruit purée or fruit juice)

Serving gummies
- These gummies are best served straight from the fridge as the kids run through the kitchen to their next adventure! You’ll feel good about helping them get their minerals and they’ll feel like they’re eating candy! Everybody wins.
- This is a great recipe to let the kids help create and try different flavor combos with. Have them climb up on a chair and help you make them and then serve during a neighborhood playdate or take on the road as you head out for a fun day!
